CONVERSATIONS ON HEALTH & WELLNESS IS NOW SOLD OUT
When it comes to health & wellness, there is no region more in the vanguard than Southern California. To celebrate the innovation, daring and new ideas percolating here and beyond, LA, The Los Angeles Times Magazine is proud to present the 1st Annual Conversations on Health & Wellness Day.
The Day will feature an exciting array of speakers and activities from Sheryl Crow and Marianne Williamson to Dr. Dennis Slamon and Kathy Freston. Physicians and researchers are representing institutions from UCLA, City of Hope, Cedars Sinai, UC Irvine, and more.
Medical professionals will be on hand to showcase the latest advances in health and wellness and everyday people and celebrities will share transformative personal stories. Guests will have access to interactive activities from juice bars and yoga to massage and non-invasive anti-aging techniques.

VIP Conversations Pass: Includes continental breakfast, lunch, access to all speakers, interactive activities, and VIP gift bag. VIP ticketholders are invited to mingle with guests and speakers at a poolside VIP reception at the close of the day.

SPEAKERS
Sheryl Crow is a breast cancer survivor and a platinum-selling singer-songwriter who is the recipient of numerous awards and honors including nine Grammys.
Laura Ziskin is a breast cancer survivor and co-founder of the nonprofit organization Stand Up to Cancer. She has also worked as a studio executive and producer of many films including the Spider-Man trilogy.
Dr. John Glaspy's research focuses on the use of bone marrow transplants and chemotherapy for breast cancer and melanomas. He is exploring the use of low-fat diet-based treatments as an alternative to unsuccessful chemotherapy and/or bone marrow transplants.
Dr. Sue Smalley PhD is the Founding Director of the Mindful Awareness Research Institute at UCLA, where the mission is to foster mindful awareness across the lifespan through education and research to promote well-being and a more compassionate society.
Dr. Dan Siegel M.D. is a Co-Investigator at the Center for Culture, Brain, and Development and is Co-Director of the Mindful Awareness Research Center at UCLA. He is Executive Director of the Mindsight Institute.
Dr. Tim Miller M.D., F.A.C.S. is a Professor and Chief, UCLA Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Miller is the Chief surgeon for Operation Mend which provides reconstructive surgery for veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan.
Octavio Sanchez
Ashley Koff is a registered dietitian (R.D.) who strives to make better nutrition a way of life for all. She was named by Citysearch as L.A.'s "Best Nutritionist" three years running.
Dr. P.K. Shah M.D., FACC, FACP, FCCP is Director of the Division of Cardiology and Director of the Oppenheimer Atherosclerosis Research Center at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Shah is working on a vaccine to prevent heart disease which is still undergoing testing.
Tyce Diorio is an Emmy Award-nominated American dancer and choreographer. He is a choreographer and guest judge on the television series So You Think You Can Dance, and he has choreographed and performed with Janet Jackson, Paula Abdul, and Jennifer Lopez, among others.
Marianne Williamson is an internationally acclaimed spiritual teacher and bestselling author. Her book A Return to Love is considered a must-read of The New Spirituality.
Kathy Freston is a health and wellness expert and a bestselling author. She promotes a body/mind/spirit approach to health and happiness that includes a concentration on healthy diet, emotional introspection, spiritual practice, and loving relationships.
Rory Freedman, a former agent for Ford Models, is the co-author of the bestselling book Skinny Bitch. She has successfully counseled models, actors, athletes, and other professionals using the Skinny Bitch method.
Dr. Soram Khlasa M.D. is a founding member of both the American Holistic Medical Association, and the American Academy of Medical Acupuncture. He is the author of The Vitamin D Revolution.
Paco MacCauley
Dr. Cara Natterson, M.D. is a pediatrician and author of three books including the forthcoming title Dangerous or Safe that helps parents understand what foods, drinks, medicines and devices are dangerous for kids, and which are victims of hype.
Anne Wokcicki is the co-founder of 23andme, an organization whose mission is to be the world's trusted source of personal genetic information.
Brad Bose PhD is a former professional athlete and has worked in the fitness, wellness, and athletic industries for more than 25 years. He co-authored the book Personal Training, a textbook for educating personal trainers. Most recently he prepared Robert Downey Jr. for his roles in Iron Man and Sherlock Holmes.
Ross Szabo is currently the director of Youth Outreach for NMHAC and in the last six years has spoken to over half a million young people in high schools and colleges about mental health issues.
Dr. Sonia Ancoli-Israel PhD’s research focus is the effect of sleep disorders on aging, the effect of circadian rhythms on sleep, therapeutic interventions for sleep problems in dementia, and fatigue.
Dr. Steven Graff-Radford, DDS is Director of the Program for Headache and Orofacial Pain at The Pain Center at Cedars-Sinai. His research interests include the study of neuropathic facial pain and headache.
Fred Roberts
Dr. Judith Reichman, M.D. is a gynecologist who practices and teaches at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and UCLA in Los Angeles. She appears regularly on NBC-TV's Today show as a contributor on women's health issues.
Marvin Belzer, PhD has been a teacher of mindfulness meditation for over fifteen years and is a professor of philosophy at Bowling Green St. University. He is visiting this year at the Mindful Awareness Research Center at UCLA.
